Project Goal

The Equal/Ex-Aequo project’s aim is the integration and re-integration in the workplace of mentally disabled people through processes of social inclusion.

Customers of the intermediary 1

Beneficiaries of the social intermediary (intermediary 1) are mentally disabled employees and her/his family; social institutions and mental health institutions; big companies and SMEs of different sectors. Social intermediaries liaise with employers, personnel director and office directors.

Job profile Intermediary 1

The social intermediary has the role to promote and supervise the job integration of disabled people. Keeping in mind the mental disability of the individual, he develops the training project along with all the necessary steps for an appropriate employment and he also carries on periodical actions of monitoring and evaluation. She/he does that in collaboration with both the local mental health office and the company. She/he operates within a network of parties with the task of coordinating the actions for an appropriate integration and re-integration in the workplace. She/he has contacts with different and specialised organisations acting as a consultant for work integration and re-integration.

Organisations where Intermediary 1 works in

Social intermediary works in public firms, in non-profit organisations and social co-ops supplying services for disabled people.

Customers of the intermediary 2

Customers of company tutors are mentally disabled employees and the employers. Company tutors liaise with the employer and the personnel chief of the company.

Job profile Intermediary 2

Company tutors have the role to assist and support mentally disabled employees in the process of integration and training within the workplace. Company tutors are employees with a key role in the company (e.g. head of a department).

Organisations where Intermediary 2 works

Company tutors are employees of the host companies.
